I am incredibly overwhelmed to have won an award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Students’ Union’. It really means a lot to have the hard work that I have put in recognised in such a prestigious way.

I genuinely thought I wouldn’t win last night, so I was, and still am, speechless and overjoyed! It was a real surprise, even more so after being handed a trophy and a shield with my name engraved on it.

I’ve been a part of the Students’ Union for almost three years now, and there have been some highs and lows to the experience. I couldn’t have won this award without the support of my friends and family who have always supported me, even in the darkest of times.

I look forward to continuing to contribute to the Students’ Union that I am so passionate about next year as I go on to study as a postgraduate at Sussex.
