The Liberal Democrats are set to take the Labour seat of Portsmouth South at the general election in December, according to a recent poll in the constituency.

The Survation poll put the stop Brexit on 30 percent, with the Conservatives on 27 percent. Labour, the incumbent party, are down 17 percent and face the prospect of coming third.

Should the Liberal Democrats win the seat, it will return the seat to the party after they lost it at the 2015 election.

The seat mirrored the country’s vote at the EU referendum, backing Leave with 52 percent of the vote.

On a national level, the Conservatives have a large lead over Labour in the polls, with a strong possibility that they would win an overall majority if an election was held today.
